Alyvia’s Bridal Portraits

For some brides, one of the most important aspects to hiring a wedding photographer is capturing beautiful bridal portraits. Between the luggage, bridesmaids, and all of the hustle and bustle of the wedding day, many brides often don't take into consideration having a photo-ready getting ready location available for bridal portraits. Somewhere that's free of the clutter and chaos that comes with half a dozen ladies crammed into a hotel room getting ready for a wedding.

Hotels, churches, and venues, often can provide the space to get ready in. However my biggest suggestion is viewing the space before your wedding day. I’ve often arrived to rooms with no windows, or dimly lit rooms with fluorescent or mixed lighting, which don’t make for the most desirable getting ready photography.

This is where Airbnb comes in to save the day! Often, for only a little extra money and planning you can book a cute Airbnb that will not only give you a place to relax, but allow for you to comfortably and efficiently create those jaw-dropping images you deserve. After all, why spend all day getting ready for a once in a lifetime event only to settle for portraits in a non-ideal getting ready location?

By renting an Airbnb, I often find you give the photographers and videographers far more light and character to work with than a stiff hotel room. Lighting is absolutely crucial when it comes to portraits, and by having more control over the environment you allow your photographers to do what they do best! For example, I shot these bridal portraits at the French Quarter in New Orleans at the cutest Airbnb! We had the entire suite to ourselves, including a balcony that overlooked Bourbon Street.. A truly magical location for bridal portraits!

If you aren't able to book an Airbnb the day of your wedding there is always the option of scheduling a bridal portrait session a different day! This may sound like an additional step but in reality it will give you more time to relax and enjoy your wedding day. When it comes to wedding photos it is easy to feel overwhelmed in the moment with all the emotions and excitement surrounding you. This is why I always think it's worth blocking out extra time and getting an Airbnb for you to create the gorgeous images that you deserve.
